new R75/5

I bought this new/old BMW R75/5 SWB on Saturday. It hadn't been started for quite some time; the last time is was licensed was the year 2000 and I believe the 43,000 miles to be original and accurate miles. The top picture shows it as it sat (on the trailer) and the later pics show it after a good cleaning. My Dad and I cleaned the carbs and had it running within a few hours of picking it up. I owe my Dad big time for setting up "the deal". This bike belonged to one of his former co-workers and he has known about it being for sale for a while. It turns out that the timing was right for all parties involved and I was able to get it for $500.00. I'm used to getting motorcycles for that price and they come packed in multiple crates and boxes (Jill can attest to this)! It happens to be in better condition then my old R60/5 was when it first acquired it and it had been partially restored. The new R75 engine is really tight and I think it's going to be a good running bike. I plan to get  a new battery and some new rubber bits and pieces and it should be good to roll. I think I can safely say this is probably the best deal I will ever get when it comes to an old motorcycle... unless someone out there has an unrestored R69S with earls front end that they're looking to unload for $200.....

Yes, Yes and Yes, to the R75/5, Albert Paley and the St. Louis arch.
