making confetti on the tormach

I am co-teaching a course in Engineering this semester called Product Realization. One of the student groups is testing lithium battery cells for Electric vehicles for Johnson Controls. They have the task of creating an interior component that mimics the physical properties of the "jelly roll" material of copper and graphite that is contained within. I turned the ends of several of these cells so the group can remove the "jelly roll" and then replace it with different test materials. One of the materials the team is testing is PVC sheet that is stacked inside and then the cell is re-sealed and smashed in the testing apparatus. Though it looked like I was making confetti on the Tormach.
