Unfortunately this is not my Father's BSA Lightning. This is a shot of my Dad on his best friend, Wayne's Bezzah. This shot was taken near my childhood home (long before I was around) at a gas station in Woodbury, IL and the road you see is IL Route 40. The gas station would soon close and things would dry up in the little town probably due in part to the interstate system. Jill and I were taking on our way home from Christmas about how the economy in the small rural areas has been hit hard. There just aren't the jobs that there used to be. Farming, small diners, gas stations, dime stores and the like used to be the main sources of income in these small towns and then when the interstate took away the people who would pass through, production facilities sprung up in the nearest larger towns. The factories are now closing and the members of these small communities are left high & dry. Production and "making" have left the country be it industrial factories or farming. What does the future hold.....?
Anyway, a cool BSA nonetheless.....
