deepgroove gecko 540

Here's the deepgroove controller that I hooked up to the Taig. I still need to hook up a fan to keep the Gecko 540 nice and cool, but this thing really seems to work well so far. I had to fuss with Mach 3 for a bit to get things running smoothly. I had trouble getting the spindle to respond when I tried to turn it on using the Mach 3 commands, but I figured it out and now everything works. I feel like I'm starting to get the hang of this a bit better than before. I'm anxious to get the cnc router that we ordered for the collaboration between art&design and architecture so I can take a look at it. My deepgroove controller should be able to run a router like the one we ordered, although we ordered it with the manufacture's own controller (which uses the Gecko 540 also). It would be nice to build a copy of it for my own personal studio. We'll see......
