riveting

I ran a riveter similar to this when I worked in a lighting factory. The riveting machine was at the beginning of an assembly line with a conveyor belt. The faster I riveted, the more product that would go out the door during my shift. There was sense of responsibility to keep that machine running at all times, otherwise you had a line full of people standing around waiting for something to come their way. Once in the zone, I could let my mind wonder as I kept the line full and people active. I would always think about what I was going to do when I got home. It usually had something to do with making something, or working on something that was broken or needed restored.
