It IS a good lathe. I checked out that link before I purchased it many years ago. I made a lot of things with that lathe and was always pleased with it.
I traded the lathe for a larger South Bend 9". But I had to buy a Taig so I could work smaller. That's the great thing about the 7x10...very versatile!
Yeah Man! I upgraded to a few key things like a cam lock on the the tail stock and and QCTP never looked back. Bought mine in grad school, been working it hard ever since.
