UWM and the Digital Craft Research Lab hosted and Milwaukee Makerspace (Pete Prodoehl) organized the first Milwaukee 3D Printing Meetup yesterday. There was a large turnout with several interested individuals as well as several printers and their owners. There was a wealth of information on the topic of 3D printing discussed among participants and several opportunities to collaborate on various local, regional, and national projects were shared. It was great to see so many people in the lab and so many different models of printers running in one place. The lab was a great space to be able to setup, connect, and share ideas.I think the event was a huge success and it was great to connect to so many talented people and to share information. I look forward to the possibility of more of these events in the future. Based on the enthusiasm at the event, I'm sure the community is going to grow rapidly.
I will be attending the 3D Printing Camp Wisconsin on July 21st. Check out their site for more information and be sure to register for the event (it's FREE). I'm sure there will be a very large turnout at this event so be sure to check it out.
