Nicole Jacquard provided a design that UWM students Aaron De Lanty and Emily Mondloch used to create a 3D surface that I milled in corian on the Tormach CNC milling machine. When Nicole was here as a visiting artist a few weeks ago, we asked her to pick out six circular cross sections that I would be able to core out. These cores will be used to create molds from and then multiple cast plastic versions will be made. I made a jig that we could use to laser engrave multiple powder coated aluminum discs. These powder coated, laser engraved aluminum backing plates complete with pin backs will be attached to the cast plastic front sections. These pins will be given to people who vote at the annual SNAG Conference in Toronto this year.
