My summer research students have been busy making hands for individuals, testing hands and printing large demo hands. We made a few videos to test the 3D printed hands against extreme conditions. We saw some breakage in the gauntlet area but only after some long distance drops.
We also tested sand and water on the hands to see what kind of abuse they could take. Not surprising; sand binds things up pretty quickly. That said, a little water and compressed air gets things moving again.
