Yesterday Caitlin made a vinyl stencil so she could sandblast a pattern into her Prusa i3 3D printer frame. I mentioned that she should just etch it so I helped her mix up some root kill and salt and we etched this frame in about 5 minutes. I mixed the acid strong, so the pattern has a really nice bite to it. She'll come back with some CNC engraving over this and it'll really pop. It seems some of the people in one of the DCRL DigiFab groups have a little competition going to see who can create the most ornate 3D printer. Look out Duncan and Fred...Caitlin is on her way to taking the title...
