The setup is underway for the Democratic presidential debate being held at UWM. The debate will take place in Helen Bader Concert Hall in the Helene Zelazo Center of the Performing Arts. If you happen to attend the debate you will want to admire the beautiful molded parabolic dome that is a part of the amazing architecture of the room. The concert hall is truly beautiful. If you are seated in the Hall you may also want to look down at the floor beneath your feet and you may possibly see one of 240 aluminum covers that I created for the space that were installed when the building was being renovated in 2011. New seating was installed at the time and covers that I designed and created were installed to replace the original cast iron acoustic covers. This was the first large scale job that I tackled using my Tormach CNC milling machine. You may notice when looking at the covers that they were inspired by the design of the molded parabolic dome. Those of you watching at home will hopefully see a shot of the parabolic dome if you are lucky.
