I was just looking into thermal jet technology today. A sculptor that I met at Sloss had recently posted pictures of his set-up for spraying mild steel with zinc to avoid rust and so I inquired about his gun. I have seen Abom use this on You Tube for building up pump shafts for re-machining, but I never thought of it as rust preventative technique.
I am curious if this might be a good alternative for dip galvanizing. I can imagine spraying an entire frame prior to painting. I also saw where the company has done tests with spraying 3D prints. I also wonder about using this prior to electroforming for the ultimate conductive surface for metal adhesion.
