the cucaranchula aramature complete

The Cucaranchula is ready for filming. Brooke finished it up and brought it past my studio on Friday. It looks great and works just as well. Her early animation tests on just the armature were very impressive, so I can't wait to see the new footage with the fur on it. She's done a good job of documenting the process and I'm sure this will help her in applying for jobs in the near future. Check out her flickr site if you're interested in seeing more details of the armature or the filming as it progresses.

the cucaranchula armature

Brooke and I cut some parts for her stop motion animation spider armature last week. We tested one of the legs and then Brooke got to work drilling and tapping the rest of the pieces. She decided over the weekend to make the second spider (a bit smaller), so she modified the drawings and then we cut another full spider out today. She's busy drilling and tapping again. I'll be anxious to see this together in the next few days (then we can cut another one) and see if it works. She's making this for a film called The Cucaranchula by Kate Balsley.
