jewelers bench for jill

Noah and I went to the studio today and worked on constructing a jewelers bench to give to Jill for her birthday. I have never been fond of working with wood, but I find that having a clear plan and proper equipment sure help. It just doesn’t resist as much as metal and my heavy hands sometime overdo things.

Our Kenilworth wood shop is fairly well equipped with table saw, miter saw, bandsaw, vertical belt sander, wood lathe, joiner, and Noah even found a place to nap during the long day of building. I also completed some “versi-cabs” (from a plan I saw in Wood magazine). They will make for some good storage in the studio.
