Oh cool, a shaper! I rented the 'Operating a Shaper' video from Smartflix a while back, and these machines have real character. The slow moving operation reminds me of a steam locomotive - slow and ponderous, yet powerful and even agile in the hands of a skilled operator. Pity they've all but disappeared.
(Don't EVER let your dad sell his! Well, except to me, of course.)
They are cool aren't they? I've tried to explain this to many people, but I always fail to explain their operation.
My Dad got it from a machinist friend of ours. It had a broken gear that my Dad fixed to make it operational. I remember being in awe when we got it running.
