in the kiln

Alex made a screen wall with the Z corp 3D printer and we are going to try and cast it in bronze. Alex connected the two intertwined pieces with wood dowels rods and then sprued the piece with pink foam. He decided to over engineer the spruing system to insure a decent cast and then he began coating it with ceramic shell. Chuck advised us to add some reservoir sections to the mold that we could later open up and blow out the starch from the print- SMART.


The mold survived the kiln with no cracks.
