Jean from Grob just contacted me and let me know that my saw was manufactured Jan 24, 1942. The drawing from above was also sent to me in the same email so I can order anything that I might need.
I also just found out that the "Do-All" blade guides that are on my saw cost $1,000 for both guides. Yikes! Good thing mine are in good condition.

Very cool! There's something about the old 1940s machines like the Warner-Swasey turret lathes that make them fascinating. Probably the likelihood that they were involved in the great war effort makes them feel more 'noble' than a perhaps technologically superior postwar product. At any rate, such a machine can certainly wear proudly the title of 'old soldier'!
