jerome splitty

We walked out of an alleyway in Jerome and were lucky enough to spot this old splitty chugging up the steep hill. It wasn't even breaking a sweat (probably thanks to those reduction gearboxes). I was hoping to see some air-cooled VW's out here and this one made my day. Jerome seems that it would be the perfect place to see a lot of air-cooled VW's. You could tell the owners were having a great time. I just hope their braking system was in good condition. I can't imagine driving my Beetle on this trek due to it's subpar braking system. Seeing this split window bus has put me in the mood to rectify that though. So cool!
