I decided to make some aluminum bushings, rather than use my bronze bushings for the non-moving idler of the x-axis on the Mendelmax. It just seemed it would be a waste to use the 8mm bronze bushings in a place where there is no movement against the shaft. So I chucked up a piece of 6061 and turned it a snug fit inside the printed parts. Then I parted the piece off and then center drilled, drilled, and reamed to fit the 8mm shaft. The new aluminum bushing is nice and snug and there is no play in the rod either. Should be a cheap "fix" if I decide to do another one like this.
