I recently made some repairs to the tailpieces of a couple of super old and super rare mandola. These instruments are gorgeous and it was a shame to see the instruments rendered near useless due to their broken string anchor tabs. A local musician asked me to see if I could repair these so I took a stab at it. It was a fairly simple repair and I attempted to put them back to their original finish. Milwaukee is home to the oldest fretted-instrument music organization in the United States. The Milwaukee Mandolin Orchestra was organized in 1900. Who knows maybe my repairs will put these instruments back into use.
