Best piece of machinery I've ever bought. Makes me want to clean and re-paint mine.

I'm with you. I think that's why I can't seem to get rid of my second one (good to have one in the basement though). I have a 13" SB too, but I can't seem to get motivated to complete it's restoration. I guess the 9" does everything that I need right now, so I'm not in a hurry.

Your new Forge looks awesome! I need to build one of those. Been on the to do list for a while. Did you follow any specific plans?

Did some interweb research about the burner and it works great. I have a the measurements for the burner all figured out if you would like it. For the forge body I basically bought k26 insulating firebrick and stacked them to figure out what outer dimensions I needed for the steel. Let me know if you want any measurements and I'll shoot them to you.

Ah that's great! If you have the dimensions for the burner, I'll take them for sure; BUT only if you already have them on paper. I don't want to take any of your time away from important things.

9.5" of stainless 1"x.120 wall tubing. (4) 1/2" holes 2" in from the feed end of the 1"x .120 wall tubing and (4) 1/2" holes 2.75" in from the same end (staggered 90 degrees). 1/4" npt steel coupler in the feed end, spun down to fit the stainless (or not stainless) tubing. The propane jet is made up of a brass 1/4" npt x 1/4" compression that's had the compression side spun off in the lathe and drilled/tapped to fit a .023-.025 short mig tip. Taper the mig tip in the lathe like a bullet and high heat threadlock that into the brass bit and then that unit into the 1/4" npt steel coupler. That piece is held into the burner tube with a set screw. I made a 1.25" x .120 wall tubing sleeve to act as the adjustable choke to control temp and propane/air mix. I made a form already and pressed some stainless flare ends if you're interested. The flare gets a set screw put in it close to the non-flared end so you can adjust the flare end until you get the best flame quality. The burner unit specs were found on youtube but modified a bit for my liking. I can shoot you anything else you may need... pics etc.

Happy New Year!

Oh, thanks so much! This is GREAT! I really appreciate you taking the time to put this in writing for me. Now I don't have any excuses; I gotta build one.

Happy New Year!

Thanks again; I owe you.
