I was having some trouble keeping the Beetle idling well, so I decided it was time for a carb rebuild. As I was doing my research I discovered the Bocar 34 Pict 3 has a bit of a reputation for being junk. There are some people out there that still believe in them though. It's always tough to trust the VW and internet crowd as you always get some knuckleheads that talk the talk, but really have no clue; the interweb is always a gamble for accurate info. I'm going to stick to a rebuild though and if I get desperate, I'll stick an OEM Solex on it. I think with some carefully cleaning and reassembly, I should be able to get it running well.
