laser cutter engraving

Aaron cut this killer test sheet the other day on the DCRL laser cutter. He also did this little time lapse video that is really cool. He painted colored india ink on the wood before he etched it. The power/ speed chart is really helping him to develop his etchings. They are much more sophisticated than just your basic etchings. He is able to create more three dimensional forms by using the settings to create variations in the depth of cut. I can't wait to see what he makes this year for his thesis work; I have a feeling it's going to be AMAZING! Check out his Google+ later and maybe he'll post some images of the things he has cut thus far.

Wow that is quick, is this a regular co2 laser or is the video at 100 speed!
