I've been working on clearing out all of the mountain laurel that is in the woods in front of my house. The girls have been helping me out with stacking brush to get it ready for burning. Liv and I discovered a deposit of clay rock jutting up out of the ground. It separates like shale, is fragile, and is sharp and jagged. We've had a lot of fun uncovering spaces in the woods that we haven't been able to walk through due to all of the growth. I still have a lot to clear, but it's already helped us to get more sunlight on the lower driveway which aids in snow removal. I look forward to being able to ride motorcycles through the property this spring.
