John McGeen and Yvette sent me a package in the mail a few weeks ago. It was so kind of them to put all these items from Flat out Friday and Mama Tried motorcycle show in a box to send to me. We rode together to the first Flat Out Friday when I was living Milwaukee. I really miss hanging out with John and talking bikes, craft, and process. He's an old soul with an appreciation of all things old and he and Yvette are a match made in heaven. I totally miss my Milwaukee/Chicago friends!

mama tried 2016
I went to the flat track races at Panther Arena downtown last night and then followed that with the Mama Tried show this morning. There were so many great bikes there and So many people there. There was a line outside the building the entire day and inside things were packed. My only complaint was how dark it was in the bike show area. The event was held in an old Milwaukee Building with tons of character complete with worn old floors that were gorgeous, a giant old freight elevator to get up to the show area, and just so many great photographs and motorcycle memorabilia surrounding the place, but it was just super dark in the interior area of the show. It was difficult to see and take photos. Regardless, I got to see a lot and even bumped into several people I know. I highly recommend this show and it just seems to get bigger and better every year.
