I really love the forms these old war planes had. They sounds amazing as well. I bet this is a rush to experience.

aileron hinge covers: flow formed

Scott used the dies that I made for the Corsair aileron hinge covers. The first attempt with urethane rubber and hydraulic press proved to thin the metal too much and in one spot; thus a tear. He figured out his method though and now has a couple covers using his air riveter with forming head to flow form the aluminum. Check out the video as it explains the process, but is done with steel. I'm glad to see that Scott ended up with a good result.

t-6 wwII trainer

I mentioned that there was a warbird sitting in the hanger where Scott's shop is. After we had chatted with Scott for a while, Michael and I had the opportunity to have a seat in the T-6 trainer. How cool! Here is some info that I found out about this particular T-6:

SNJ-5

Naval version of the famous T-6 family of advanced WW2 trainers.Used by the Navy and Marines for advanced flying training,formation,gunnery and carrier landing qualification.This aircraft,flown by the Wisconsin Wing of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF), is unique due to it’s rare rear gunner seat and canopy.”
