titanium ring

A former UWM Graphic Design student, Zak Smeltzer, came by the studio on Saturday so I could design and make a wedding band for his upcoming wedding. I knocked this titanium ring out in two hours while he watched the lathe turn and we talked about what he has been up to since he graduated. It was good to see him and good to be able to make this for him for his special day.

wedding rings

Eric is designing a ring for someone special, so I told him to send the files to me so I could print it on the Form1. You can see here, how the PreForm software looks. They came out pretty decent for how small these pieces actually are. I even printed the modeled diamond too. It fits in the bezel nicely. I'll send him a set of these and see what he thinks. Might be nice to try and cast in metal from these just to see the results.

I had posted the content above much earlier, but didn't realize that Inna might potential see this, so I had to take it down fast. I think it's probably safe to post now though. I came across the pics of the finished cast ring that Eric sent me, on my phone.
