I used to build stuff out of the junk my father had in his shop. I remember he would set us (my sisters and I) up with a 2x4 in the vise and we would hammer nails into it until we couldn't fit anymore on the block. I am thankful for the time that I spent just watching what he was working on and asking him questions about what he was doing. It seems there has been a changing of the guard now, as I always have to answer twenty questions when Noah is with me. I have to remind myself that this is part of his learning experience and that I need to do my best to explain rather than give him a "short answer".
Noah informed me that he didn't want me to do anything with the metal rod scrap as he was planning to use it. When I asked "what for?", he replied that he was "going to build something with them someday". He's already learned to horde materials in case he needs to build something out of them. Like father/ like son....

I really enjoy reading these, I need a better shop ... for Kaden's sake ;)
I'm glad you enjoy reading these. I've been enjoying writing them. Thanks to Eric, I'm hooked. This is really a great way to record what all we do.
