I mentioned earlier that I had been working on some new cutters. They've consumed me as of late. I finished the new pizza cutters this past Friday morning. I was very happy to get these completed. I'd started these a while ago and they just were never quite what I wanted them to be until now. The most recent work on finishing the details of these has felt really "right". It came together with the anodizing after the final machining of the wheels and center caps. These were just sold to a collector in New York.
I'm anxious to get started on some new work again. I have a ton of ideas floating around in my head and I still have a lot of unfinished stuff to work on. Gotta get to work!

How do you get such amazing photos? Some sort of specialized lightbox? I'd swear that they were actually raytraced renderings...
It's pretty easy actually. I actually think they could be a bit better than they are.
For these I used a gradated (black to white) background which you can get at a photo supply store. The backdrop is pinned to the wall so that it drapes down onto the table. The I build a lightbox using foam core board with windows that are cut out and covered with light weight tracing paper or velum. This filter the light. Then I use three halogen lights; one one each side and one over the top. Then shoot away!
The RAW images actually look much better and the colors are richer since they aren't compressed.
so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
