bikes

I was able to get the all of the parts sandblasted and everything welded today. I'm hoping to get to paint soon.

Steve mentioned that he was curious about my other bikes so I thought I'd post some pics of those. I'll try to add the rest in a couple of days. Pictured above is my "cheap man's rickman" - a montgomery wards riverside mojave 360 (benelli) frame with a triumph bonneville engine. And the second bike is a bsa plunger framed chopper with harley tank, yamaha front-end, police spotlight, schwinn seat with engine yet to be determined (if anyone out there has a cool engine that would look good in this frame let me know). It would be cool if I could find a titled engine and even an original bsa engine, but at this point I figure I could make just about anything work with this hybrid mess.

As mentioned earlier in the blog I also currently own the following:
Moto Guzzi Eldorado (punched out to 1000cc)
Honda CL450 cafe racer
Montesa Cota 348 Trials
Montesa King Scorpion with 70 cota trials engine
Harley Davidson (Aermacchi) Sprint 350
Islo Trialsmaster (made in mexico and designed by famed trials rider Bill Grapevine)
Montgomery Wards 50cc moped

I know it's a mixed bag, but I kinda like it that way. After looking at this list I realize each one of these bikes speaks to a different part of my soul and reminds me of a time and place in my life. They also represent my varied interests in some strange way.

most guys try to compensate some shortcoming with something that is either loud, fast, or expensive. frankie, instead, chooses to own many things that do not work. i don't know if this relates to any kind of compensation, but i have the same affliction. i also like it that way, for some strange reason.
