hayley's second hand

We made Hayley from Inverness a second hand. This one features a long gauntlet and it is all pink. It turned out really well and I do hope she likes the all pink version. This particular hand utilizes my remix of the Cyborg Beast palm with Peter's Talon fingers, and the gauntlet is my own long gauntlet design that I originally made for Karuna. We have tweaked various things and I can honestly say that we are getting fairly fast at building this particular design. We have lightened the pull as much as possible to assure that Hayley will have the strength to use this hand to the fullest and I'm anxious to see how she likes it. The files for the Cyborg remix can be found on Thingiverse.

Hayley's parents are having a benefit auction this month to help UWM's DCRL with material costs for creating the hands for other children. This act of kindness will allow us to continue making custom hands free of charge for those in need. We can't thank them enough for deciding to do this on our behalf. If it were not for their kindness though, we would still find a way to help those in need free of charge; "where there is a will, there is a way".

The list of children that we have created hands for is growing and we are learning more and more with each hand we create. We hope Shea, Karuna, Evan, Weston, Hayley, and Cai are able to see subtle improvements as we make adjustments and we appreciate their patience as we work through design improvements. It has been a joy to be able to make each of these children multiple hands as we test new ideas.
