penland - andrew hayes

I bumped into Andrew first as Rachel was taking us through the Resident Barns. Andrew was kind enough to take some time to show me around his studio space. I loved the welding table that he built; the slots for clamping and fixturing things is really nice. Andrew told me how he acquired the beautiful Johnson horizontal saw. I would love to have something this size  for cutting round stock for the turning. He also showed me a nice little Kevin Potter die and some steam engines he had; so cool! I really appreciate the fact that both Andrew and Seth were so gracious with their time. Again, I hope I can connect with Andrew and Seth and I can get them to Boone sometime for a studio visit.
