I put the /2 swingarm back into the swingarm jig once I was sure that everything lined up perfectly. I machined an axle spacer to the proper length (as Eric and I discussed) to keep the axle aligned and to keep proper spacing on the swingarm. I heated the whole swingarm with the rosebud and was sure to heat the other side of the swingarm as well (where I wasn't welding) in hopes that this would cut down on any contraction or warping. Then I TIG welded the /6 housing to the /2 swingarm. The weld really penetrated well since the whole thing was warmed up, nice and hot. I let everything cool down while it was still in the jig and everything seemed to stay in alignment. I'm happy with how this came out.
